Somerset County Library System of New Jersey (SCLSNJ) celebrated multiple wins at the New Jersey Library Association (NJLA) Honors and Awards Ceremony, held on May 29, 2025, during the annual NJLA Conference in Atlantic City. SCLSNJ staff and partners were honored with multiple accolades, underscoring the system's commitment to excellence, innovation, and community engagement.

The awards highlight the dedication and impactful work across various facets of library service:

The esteemed Library Champion Award was presented to Jasmine D. McCoy, Borough Administrator for Bound Brook. The award recognized her outstanding advocacy and support for the Bound Brook branch and her significant contributions to the library's role within the community. Her unwavering commitment was instrumental in helping the Bound Brook library staff find locations and opportunities for library services to continue to be provided to local residents, when the branch needed to close abruptly due to asbestos.

Hannah Williams, a Youth Services Librarian at the Montgomery branch, was awarded the prestigious Miss Rumphius Award for her innovative program, "My First Book Club." This award celebrated her exceptional work in inspiring a love of reading and literacy in young children, creating a welcoming and engaging space for early readers.

The Bound Brook Outreach team was recognized with a Library Services Award for Library Groups. This award acknowledged the team’s profound impact on reaching underserved populations in the Bound Brook area, by bringing vital library resources and programming directly to community members when the branch needed to close abruptly.

The SCLSNJ Marketing Team, with particular recognition for Carolyn Donchevich, received the Public Relations and Marketing Campaign Award for the captivating "Travel Themed Campaign." This award celebrates the team's creativity, strategic vision, and effectiveness in promoting library services and engaging the community through an imaginative and well-executed marketing campaign.

"We are incredibly proud of Jasmine McCoy, Hannah Williams, the Bound Brook Outreach team, and our Marketing team for these well-deserved recognitions," said Brian Auger, SCLSNJ Library Director. "These awards are a testament to the passion, innovation, and dedication of not only our staff at SCLSNJ but the community partners we work with. They reinforce our mission to provide exceptional library services that enrich the lives of Somerset County residents."
